Calibre Vice. Split Personality

calibre vice wheels

The new 2011 Calibre wheel range balances the best of retro-inspired designs with the latest cutting edge manufacturing techniques – and the latest release, ‘Vice’, epitomises the range perfectly.

Vice has a stunning appearance that belies its reasonable ticket price. Looking every inch the swapmeet rarity that it was based on, Vice uses flawless pseudo split-rim detailing and deeply lacquered diamond polishing to present a design that will suit a massive range of retro and modern day machinery.

For those looking to create the perfect stance, Vice comes only in 7 x 15 and 7 x 16” sizes, ready to accept a perfectly stretched tyre. Although the designers have been unashamedly looking backwards, Calibre’s engineers have ensured that this rim ticks all of the modern-day boxes with regard to finish and durability. All Calibre wheels are heat-treated and enjoy class-leading levels of surface protection.

Only one colour way and PCD is available; Gloss black against stunning diamond polishing on a 4 x 100 stud pattern. What else could you need? Prices start at £95 + VAT for the 15” version.

AEZ Lascar

AEZ Lascar
The Láscar is a volcano in Northern Chile: nearly 5,600 metres high and exceedingly active. The new AEZ wheel Lascar is hot and full of power as well. But it also bears its name because it does justice to the trend towards large rims. Namely, with available sizes of up to 8.5 × 20 and 9.5 × 20 inches, it is just as impressive as the South American lava giant. The AEZ Lascar is particularly well-suited to upper class limousines or sports cars such as Audi A6, Chrysler 300C, Mercedes E- or S-Class, Nissan 350Z or the BMW M models.    (more…)

Caroline Fischerlehner posed as the new AEZ-catalogue model

With its sophisticatedly produced light metal wheels, AEZ targets an equally demanding and style-conscious clientele. An image, which is not just underlined in the new 38-page 2009 alloy catalogue by the high-quality product range, but also by the stylish model Caroline Fischerlehner from Austria. For a whole week the photographer trekked with the stylish Viennese through the salines of Es Trenc in Mallorca for the shooting of the brochure. There she posed in the company of classy automobiles with partners made of cool aluminium that had exotic sounding names such as Lascar, Tidore dark or Tacana. In the resulting scenes, shot against natural backdrops, Caroline impressively showed that neither the industry-standard bare breasts nor promiscuous poses are needed to create a sexy aura. (more…)

Cargraphic GTR Wheel

alloy wheels

"Design, production, fine machining – even the screws for the mounting of the individual parts are from Germany", Thomas and Michael Schnarr, brothers, managing directors and founders of Cargraphic GmbH are proud of the technical precision of their wheels. The new design, the GTR, is a three-part forged rim which is the result of an immense development technologically and stylistically, similar to the Supercars which should wear them. Drivers which are crazy about sophisticated cars such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi R8 or Aston Martin want the same from a light weight wheel. Michael Schnarr says : „That means not only Style, but also Technical Sophistication.“ (more…)

Five-spoked wheel CARMANI 3

With the CARMANI “3” wheel, the sister brand of OXIGIN introduces another attractive design for the new season.

The “CA 3” wheel’s striking five-spoke look gives it a sturdy appearance. At the same time, the diverse design, complete with concave and convex forms, conveys a gentle, gliding motion. Thanks to the spokes, which broaden as they approach the rim band, the wheel appears especially large, even in the smallest 17-inch model. The large spaces between the spokes offer a view of the vehicle’s brake system, creating an awe-inspiring effect when paired with lacquered brake callipers. (more…)

Drifters put DOTZ rims through their paces

Nissan Silvia Drifting

Take a bold Norwegian, a tuned-up Nissan Silvia S13, countless tyres and four 18-inch DOTZ Hanzo rims. Add a former military airport, and you’ve got an incredible Drift show in a class of its own. That’s what DOTZ offered the numerous international visitors at the IKmedia Experience Day. Stian Jacobsen and his colleague Thomas Nikolaisen showed to perfection how an automobile can go into a controlled jack-knife at around 70 mph. (more…)
